You must be off of Accutane for a full year before face waxing. You should stop using Retinol-A products at least 7-10 days prior to getting a face wax to prevent skin damage. After waxing it is advisable to wait a few days before resuming retinol use to allow the skin to recover.
Pre-wax and Post-wax Care Tips
Pre-wax care
• Hair length for waxing must be at least a quarter of an inch long, about 10-14 days of growth.
• Gently exfoliate the area the night before your appointment to remove dead skin cells.
• Take a warm shower before appointment to soften the skin.
Post-wax care
• Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 48 hours to prevent hyperpigmentation and burns.
• Stay out of pools and hot tubs to avoid irritation from chlorine and potential infections
• Avoid saunas, hot showers and intense workouts to prevent irritation and infection
